In relation to IBTE’s course in NTec
in Food Processing specifically in module food packaging and food labelling,
JASTRe was invited to provide an awareness talk to the students regarding the
role of packaging as a food manufacturer and consumer. The talk started with a
presentation on introduction to JASTRe followed by the presentation on the topic.
Two activities were organized for the students, where the first activity was an
environmental related to quizzes and following it is an activity to create
packaging ideas from recycled materials such as newspaper, plastic bottles,
strings, etc. The aim of the talk was to expose and educate the students in
waste management, particularly the waste hierarchy and to show what are their
role and responsibilities as a food manufacturer and consumer towards the
environment.
