​​1.      Where do I throw my household waste?
You can engage a house-to-house collection service from a list of service providers registered with the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation. Alternatively, you can throw your household wastes directly at waste collection points managed by the Department. These waste collection points are generally located alongside main roads in the Brunei Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong districts.
 
2.       Where do I dispose my used television and refrigerators?
Used television and refrigerators are bulky wastes. You can dispose them directly to one of the many recyclers listed with the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation or make separate arrangements with the individual recyclers for their collection.

5.      Do I need permit for importing gases?
The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation only issue permit for the import of gases under the purview of the Montreal Protocol.

These are mainly : refrigerant gases for home and mobile air-conditioners ; foam blowing agents ; cleaning solvents in electronic and textile industries ; propellants for aerosols ; sterilants for medical sterilization ; fire extinguishers ; fumigants for soil, shipment and quarantine purposes ; and, feedstock for chemical synthesis. You need to register with the Department of Environment, Park and Recreation to obtain approval and permit for the import of these gases that are characterised as Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS).

6.       Can I get the Department to help me trim or cut down trees in my backyard?
The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation will only trim or cut down trees within government premises and its vicinity or along main roads that affect the safety of the public. The latter will be done on a case-by-case basis.

The Department, however, can give you technical advice on how the trees are to be trimmed or cut if those trees are in close proximity to your house, or if those threes pose a threat if it were not to be trimmed or cut. You can engage a private contractor from the list of service providers registered with the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation to get the trees trimmed of cut.

7.      Do I need to book if I were to camp or organise a family activity in any of the parks and recreational 

         areas under the Department?
Yes. You need to contact the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation at 2241262 (during office hours) at least one (1) week before the camp or family activities to ensure the facilities are available.​ You may refer to our information and knowledge section to know more on what type of facilities available in our parks and recreational areas.
