To promote the practice and use of reusables to the public, a social media campaign was conducted during the whole month of Ramadhan, as a continuation to last year's 'Take Your Action, Make a Difference' Campaign.
During this month, the tendency to purchase food in bulk is high as well as high food wastage. This is due to the high availability of many varieties of food stalls and vendors. The social media campaign 'Eco-Ramadhan bersama JASTRe', aims to promote the idea of reusable as a more sustainable alternative compared to single use plastics and to promote zero waste by controlling food portions. This activity was done by JASTRe personnel purchasing food using reusables every Saturday, at different locations a few minutes before breaking fast. The image is then posted in Instagram in order to promote the behaviour of using reusables. The four locations were located at Jerudong Park, One Riverside, Yayasan food stalls and Pasar Malam Gadong. The Public were also encouraged to join in this campaign by posting their bought good using reusable by tagging JASTRe and hashtag that was provided for the campaign.
A variety of information was shared in the form of infographics, videos, interactive quizzes, poems, as well as tips for starting eco-friendly habits was uploaded to JASTRe's social media in order to raise awareness as well as encourage people to start adopting environmentally friendly habits.
