Damuan Recreational Park located just beside His Majesty's Palace, The Istana Nurul Iman about four and a half kilometers from the heart of the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The area covers a kilometer stretch filled with various facilities such as playgrounds, walking path as well as a restaurant for visitors.
Enclosed within the park is the ASEAN Square, displaying the work of a sculptor from each of the original six ASEAN member countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. Themed "Harmony in Diversity" symbolizes ASEAN solidarity and the aspiration of its member countries, which is love, peace, freedom and mutual respect. The sculptures were completed during the fourth ASEAN Square Sculpture Symposium, which lasted from the 11th January to 24th February 1986.
